the chocolate Santa than the
yarn accents on the gifts. In the
kitchen windows (7, 9) each
child has his own Advent
garland— a modern-day take on
the traditional calendar. Every
bag or pouch, marked with the
date, holds a sweet or small toy.
On the Christmas tree (8),
Gunda mixes long-loved
decorations with newer ones of
the same style. “I like ornaments
that are, or at least look,
handmade,” she says.
